Instinct Traditional Shafts:

**** SOLD by the Dozen*****

Our Instinct® arrow is the ONLY wood-grain-micro-diameter-carbon-traditional arrow on the market today. Designed to be more shootable, the Micro-Diameter size helps to offset the off-center design of most recurve and longbow risers made today. We also coupled the Instinct® with our SUPER TOUGH Stainless Steeloutserts, that weigh 100 grains, so you can have the weight up front where you want it.

Each Instinct® Duracoat wood grain overlay-finish on the shaft allows for refletching and cresting. Instinct® arrows are straightness sorted, spine matched, and weight matched—to ensure the quality and toughness that you have come to expect from Black Eagle Arrows. We feel that traditional archers should no longer have to use traditional arrows. Test your Instincts® and experience the Black Eagle difference today!

To install the outsert.

  1. Select the right outsert for the right shaft.
  2. Dry fitting is recommended on all components. Slide Outserts over shaft and spin test (if you prefer)
  3. If Outserts does not fit that is OK. Get some 100 Grit sand paper and lightly sand the shaft in a circular motion until the outsert fits snug on shaft. Start slowly so you don't remove to much off the arrow.
  4. Wipe dust off of the shaft with Clean paper towel. (No Cleaners are recommended)
  5. Again, Spin test to ensure concentricity. Rotating outsert until it spins perfect.
  6. Use a Silver or Black Sharpie and mark the Shaft and the Outsert for perfect alignment once glue is applied.
  7. We have tested Our fletching glue, insert/outsert glue and epoxy and all of them work great.
  8. Apply a even amount of glue around the shaft to ensure the glue channels get enough glue in them to hold.
  9. Once The outsert is glued on stand the arrow on the nock end to dry.

4 of 5 I like them, but... August 13, 2019

I really do like them a lot. The biggest drawback IMO is that they have a faux woodgrain finish. I like the durability that the finish gives but I wish we could get trad arrows in plain jackets. The outserts are pretty stout, once I figured it out I haven't had any issues with them. I'm using the ST micronock with them. I wish they came with an option for a smaller throat nock.

4 of 5 350 Instinct May 1, 2019

Really liking the micro diameter instinct line however recently ran into an issue with loose outsert fit on the 350's ( never had an issue with the 400's ). Ended up trying multiple glues and hotmelts totaling 4 lost points and outserts in the target before finally tossing the arrow. All outserts fit snugly ( not as snug as the 400's which I had to sand down to fit as in the instructions ) but aparently not snug enough.

I incorrectly ordered the Instinct Traditional shafts and they were great about quickly exchanging them for the Vintage Traditional shafts. The arrows look great and I am looking forward to getting them fletched up and into some targets.

5 of 5 instinct micro arrow April 15, 2019
Reviewer: Vicente Hernandez from El Paso, TX United States
WOW, I am amazed by this SHAFT. I have tried my fair amount of other arrows gold tip, victory vap, FMJs on all my Traditional Bows. All in the range of 51lbs and 47lbs. with different spine arrow set ups, never getting that perfect arrow flight , close but not perfect. I bare tuned my new INSTINTS to the best of my ability . Cut to 31 inches, fletch and 100grs points up front..Four of my BOWS are shooting DARTS.. with the same arrows,,, WOW. order 1 doz VAP ELITE the same time I order My INSTINCTS And now want return the VAPS DONT NEED ANY MORE....that good This Micro-Diameter INSTINCTS ARE WOW......

These are the coolest trad arrows on the market. Exactly what I come to expect when I see a Black eagle.
